Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide. After a brief introduction, you’ll receive bottles of mineral water before being privately transferred to your hotel or lodge in Arusha for dinner and overnight. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore the surroundings of your accommodation.

Day 2: Moshi to Machame Gate (1490m) to Machame Camp (2980m)

After breakfast, depart from the hotel and drive to Machame gate. Complete the necessary paperwork at the gate before starting your ascent into the rainforest. The trail may become muddy and slippery due to rain, but you’ll push forward with a lunch stop halfway. Arrive at Machame camping area in the late afternoon, where your porters will have set up your tent. Enjoy dinner prepared by the cook before retiring to your tent for the night.

Day 3: Machame Camp (2980m) – Shira Camp (3840m)

Begin your day with an early rise at Machame camp, followed by breakfast. Climb through the forest to the top, then continue through the moorland zone. After a short lunch and rest, ascend a rocky ridge onto the Shira plateau, offering stunning views of the Western Breach. Reach the Shira campsite in the late afternoon, where dinner will be served before settling in for the night.

Day 4: Shira (3840m) – Lava Tower (4630m) – Barranco Camp (3950m)

Turn east into a semi-desert and rocky landscape towards the “Lava Tower,” reaching an altitude of 4630m after a 5-hour walk. Enjoy lunch before descending to Barranco camping, where acclimatization benefits await. Take in the scenery of the Western Breach and Breach Wall before dinner and overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 5: Barranco Camp (3950m) – Karanga Camp (4550m)

Ascend the Great Barranco Wall, proceeding through the Karanga Valley. Cross over ridges and valleys, joining the Mweka route before reaching Karanga Valley Camp for overnight stay.

Day 6: Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, traverse a cold desert for about 4 hours before reaching Barafu Hut. Collect water from Karanga Valley as there is no water at Barafu camp. Prepare for the final ascent to the summit and rest before the challenging night ahead. Go to bed early to ensure adequate rest.

Day 7: Summit Attempt to Mweka Camp

Begin your summit attempt around midnight, heading towards Stella Point on the crater rim. Experience a challenging ascent to Stella Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak for sunrise. Descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp for overnight stay.

Day 8: Mweka Camp (3100m) – Mweka Gate (1980m) to Arusha

After breakfast at Mweka Camp, descend to Mweka Gate where your driver will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 9: Arusha to Tarangire National Park for Game Drives

Following breakfast, depart from your hotel for a journey to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy game drives and wildlife sightings throughout the day, with lunch served at a picnic site within the park. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Tarangire to Serengeti via Ngorongoro with Cultural Tour

Depart from your lodge after breakfast for a drive to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro. Stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the crater for sightseeing before visiting a Maasai boma for a cultural tour. Continue to Serengeti through Naabi Hill gate, enjoying a picnic lunch and game drive en route to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Full Game Drives in Serengeti

Today’s itinerary is entirely flexible based on your preferences. Your guide will discuss the best timing for activities, including game drives and wake-up times. You might choose to start with a morning game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, and then continue with an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you could opt for a full-day game drive with picnic lunches. The Serengeti Park, named from the Maasai language meaning “endless plain,” spans a massive area and is home to a diverse array of wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, baboons, warthogs, hyenas, and numerous bird species. Migration events often occur in the Serengeti, with millions of wildebeests and zebras followed by predators. Your professional guide will ensure you have the best opportunities to witness these incredible phenomena. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: En Route Game Drives to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, embark on another memorable day of exploration as you journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll have the opportunity to continue exploring the Serengeti ecosystem and spot any animals you may have missed in previous days. Enjoy lunch at a picnic site before proceeding with further game drives towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 13: Game Drives Inside the Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

Early in the morning, depart from the camp/lodge with packed lunches for an exciting day of game drives inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Known as the 8th wonder of the Natural World, the crater is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the rare and endangered black rhinos. Other animals you may encounter include elands, lions, waterbucks, wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, African elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, and numerous bird species. Enjoy lunch at a picnic point inside the crater before ascending the crater walls and driving to Karatu for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 14: Walking Cultural Tour with Hadzabe Tribe then Drive Back to Arusha

After breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi for an authentic cultural tour with the Hadzabe people. The Hadzabe are an indigenous ethnic group known for their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle. Learn about their history, culture, traditions, and customs as you spend time with them. Experience firsthand their way of life and explore their natural surroundings. After the tour, drive back to Arusha for overnight accommodation at your hotel/lodge.

Day 15: Airport Departure

Enjoy a leisurely morning until departure time. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
